Because this is a domain validated certificate, you will need to prove ownership of the domain,

there are 3 methods available:

  1. Email Approval
  2. HTTP Based Approval
  3. DNS Based Approval

Email Approval is the easiest method if you can easily create a new email address or have an approver email address available, you will be provided with a list of acceptable approver email addresses.

HTTP Based Approval works by uploading a text file to the root of you web server, this method is fairly easy if you have access to the root website.

Finally DNS Based Approval works by creating a CNAME DNS Record and pointing it to the Comodo Servers, this method should only be used if you cannot complete Email Approval or HTTP Based Approval and will take up to 72 hours to complete.

Once you have clicked place order, your chosen Approver method will be used and your certificate order will be processed.

Once you have completed your Approver method and the certificate has been issued you will receive an email informing you that your certificate is ready for collection.

Please note that if your common name contains a brand name, it may get delayed by brand validation, this doesn’t happen often but when it does the screen will state this.

This only usually takes a few hours to complete and then your certificate will be issued.
